Matters of the Heart 54 – September, 2017
I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. (Psalm 119:46)
Sometimes in life, I find myself reflecting on how did I end up here, pastoring? The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah that the Lord has the plan for our lives and ultimately God is in control. Many of my friends are not surprised that I am a pastor, I always had a word, testifying to the goodness of God and how the Lord has blessed and moved in my life. Our testimony is a part of our witness to the glory of God and His goodness and mercy towards us. I often hear, “how do you do it,” “I need to step my game up,” etc. my response is, “I did it with God.” When I took one step, God made two. Some people want it to be something else other than crediting God, or for me to take the credit because of their cynicism and lack of faith.
I will continue to tell of the Lord’s miracles and guidance in my life. But it’s funny, no matter how much you share with some people how you got over, People will not adhere to the prescription prescribed. It is just like the Doctor telling a person with diabetes the consequences of not changing their diet and taking their medication. I will continue to speak of my testimonies as it relates to the promises of God; if you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, but I am also aware that the Gate to the kingdom of God is Narrow. I encourage you to continue to speak of your testimony of the presence of God in and around your life because if it had not been for the Lord on my side, I do not know where I would be. God bless you.
