Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30 NIV

This morning I arise to call my mom a Proverbs 31 mother. I have been truly blessed to have Asenath Anderson as my mom. I cannot begin to mention all she has done and sacrificed for her children. Regina Belle wrote the lyrics “I would if I could” and my mom tried. I do not come close to her level of commitment and sacrifice, but I do have an excellent example of motherhood in my mother. I have one son and after I would put Joshua on the bus, I would plop in the office chair with a cup of coffee and wonder how my mother did it with four children, I am exasperated with one. I am also grateful for beautiful grandmothers and Aunts, who not only taught me the ways of Christ but a few things of the world. I would also like to shout out the women in my life who impacted my life in so many ways and did not just have to do with the word of God. I know women who were alcoholics, drug addicts and former gang bangers and the like. Many have given their hand to Christ, but I want to thank them for sharing their experiences. The Lord will fight your battles I am a witness for that, but sometimes life experience and encounters prepare you for the cruelty of this world. Beloved everything isn’t coming up roses. So today, I celebrate women who have impacted this world by giving birth to great people with great ideas that have built this world. There is so much negativity, but when I begin to reflect upon mothers and all they have done, I am honored to be amongst the tribe and especially those who put first the things of God and fears the Lord. Enjoy celebrating the mothers and women in your life that have contributed to your journey. Remain encouraged God bless you.
