Director of the Bureau of Evangelism
I thank God for blessing me with a wonderful wife and three children. Our family has attended St. Philips A.M.E. Zion Church in Nyack, N.Y. for over thirty years. I am the Director of the Bureau of Evangelism, a Sunday School Teacher, and also teach Bible class on Thursday evenings.
We are very excited about what God is doing in this part of his vineyard. God placed the desire in our hearts to prepare for the evangelism within and outside of the four walls. He said, “go into the world and teach all men the gospel message of Jesus Christ.”
What is the Gospel Message or Good News?
1. Repent. (all have sinned)
2. Believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
3. He was crucified, dead and buried. And rose on the third day.
4. He shall return again.
5. All who believe and confess this truth shall live with Him for all eternity
He promised to send the holy Spirit to lead us, live within us, and empower us with all the boldness required to stand on his world. Jesus overcame death and sin, and we too shall overcome these enemies. “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witness unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of earth.” Acts 1:8
We praise God for opening doors to evangelize in the Rockland County Jail, New City, N.Y. We work alongside the Christian Church of Rockland, Haverstraw, N.Y. We also volunteer with ARK (All Rockland Kids for Christ) at the Waldron Terrace Apartments, Central Nyack, N.Y. For three years, we taught Bible Class in the home of an individual who lived on Franklin Street. It will always be special to me because it was a first step taken to reach out into the community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many have been blessed by the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ . Glory to God our Savior.
We encourage others to come alongside us and be obedient to the Great Commission. He said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. “Matthew 28:19-20
We, the Church of St. Philip’s, continue looking forward to being faithful channels through whom the working power of the Holy Spirit flows to do the will of our God and Savior Jesus the Christ.
